Mark Warner Discusses Canada’s NAFTA and WTO Challenges to U.S Duties on Canadian Softwood Lumber Exports

Mark Warner was quoted in the Wall Street Journal about the decision of the Government of Canada to challenge U.S. antidumping and countervailing duties on softwood lumber exports from Canada under Chapter 19 of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and in the World Trade Organization (WTO). (November 14, 2017) Mr. Warner is a Canadian and U.S. lawyer who has practiced in Toronto, Washington, DC and New York and has advised governments on trade policy and trade negotiations and previously worked on trade and competition issues as counsel in the OECD Trade Directorate. Mr. Warner was Legal Director of the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development & Trade and advised Ontario in the Canada-EU Trade Agreement (CETA) negotiations and on other trade and investment negotiations and disputes, including under NAFTA and the WTO.
